Must See, Do, & Stay in Italy!

We have compiled a list of the "Best Of" Italy version! Check out the restaurants, stays, and activities we LOVE in Italy.

AMALFI

What we love:

NH Grand Hotel Convento Di Amalfi

Why we love it:

This 13th century monastery with original cloister and church that guests have access to provides the most beautiful cliff-side views of the sea! The breakfast is amazing and some of the rooms have painted ceilings and walls to make you really feel like you are sleeping in a 13th century suite! This is actually where Albert and I got married and stayed. It was truly a fairytale and such an unbelievable hotel and venue.

Price:

This one is kind of pricey depending on the room type, ranging from 500 Euro per night to 1700 Euro per night but TOTALLY worth the splurge for a night or two!

Transportation:

The Amalfi Coast is honestly a terrifying place to travel via car but necessary to get to some locations. You can book drivers for relatively cheap. These drivers are locals and know the rules of the road (or lack thereof) in Amalfi and will know exactly where to drop you off. However, most places can be accessed by walking.

CAPRI

What we love:

Da Luigi ai Faraglioni

Why we love it:

This beach club offers super exclusive vibes without the super exclusive price! The restaurant on site has delicious, fresh seafood and must-try Sangria! The views of Faraglioni are nothing short of amazing.

Price:

30 Euro gets you entrance to the club + a lounge chair!

Transportation:

Transportation from most marinas on the mainland to Capri is available for a small fee, however, if you want to make it an excursion to remember, supergozzo boats are available for reservation at various prices depending on size. Most boats come with a captain and champagne!

ROME

What we love:

The Roman Guy

Why we love it:

This guided tour company is the best. They offer affordable tours for all of the must see attractions in Rome with many of them allowing you to skip the line- and let me tell you- those lines get LONG! The tour guides are extremely knowledgable and personable and are super easy to find as they hold up a big sign near the entrance of your tour location that says "The Roman Guy" so you aren't scrambling around trying to find where to go yourself!

Price:

Range from 40 Euro and up depending on type of tour (private, food included, skip the line, etc.)

Transportation:

The Roman Guy doesn't provide transportation to the tour locations but will guide you on how to get there, which comes in handy when you are in a foreign city where everyone walks and pedestrian signs don't make sense!

TUSCANY

What we love:

Capannelle Winery

Why we love it:

The location of this winery is just magical. It is surrounded with rolling hills, vineyards, and the most picturesque Tuscan villas. The winery doesn't sell their product in the US which makes it even more of a must-visit locale! Italian wine in general puts American wine to shame, but Capannelle's wines take Italian wine to a new level. The winery will let you buy their wines and ship to your home in the US so you don't have to go without. The tour guide tells the amazing story of the family owned company and even takes you into the cellar!

Price:

25 Euro up to 80 Euro depending on the type of tasting/ tour you want to book.

Transportation:

Capannelle is unfortunately off of the beaten path and renting a car is going to be your best bet on getting there, but the drive is so worth it. You pass through some of the most beautiful Tuscan countryside on your way to Gaiole in Chianti giving you several photo ops along the way!

VENICE

What we love:

Casin de Spiriti AirBnB

Why we love it:

This AirBnb is right off of the canal and is so perfect for large groups as it is several separate units connected by a courtyard. Each unit can be rented separately, as well. This complex is connected to an art gallery and the exhibits portray Venetian art at its finest. The owner is a Venice native and provides recommendations galore!

Price:

1300 Euro per night for the entire complex which sleeps up to 26 guests.

Transportation:

The owner will arrange for transportation from the train station for you! Via boat, of course!

Are you ready for your Italian adventure???
